Trees! Fall 2023

Saturday, December 6 – 820 SW 62nd Terrace, Gainesville (again!)

We returned to the site of the October 21 planting to add 21 more trees – common olive (Olea europaea), dahoon holly (Ilex cassine), yaupon holly (Ilex vomitoria), longleaf pine (Pinus palustrus), and southern magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora) – and to do a litter pickup in this pedestrian park near the merging of SW 8th Avenue and SW 61st Street, Gainesville.

Saturday, October 21 – 820 SW 62nd Terrace, Gainesville

We planted 27 trees – pond cypress (Taxodium ascendens), live oak (Quercus virginiana), winged elm (Ulmus alata), southern magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora), and sycamore (Platanus occidentalis) – in this pedestrian park near the merging of SW 8th Avenue and SW 61st Street, Gainesville.

Saturday, September 23 – First Baptist Church, Alachua

We planted a dozen trees – live oaks (Quercus virginiana) and winged elms (Ulmus alata) – on the grounds of the First Baptist Church of Alachua, 14608 NW 140th Street, Alachua.
