Trees! Fall 2024

Saturday, November 23 – Timberway, Gainesville

We planted eleven trees – eastern hop hornbeam (Ostrya virginiana), fringetree (Chionanthus henryae), southern magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora), and winged elm (Ulmus alata) – in this subdivision in northwest Gainesville.

 

Saturday, October 26 – SW 1st Place & SW 75th Street, Gainesville

We planted twenty-four trees – loquat (Eriobotrya japonica), mulberry (Morus rubra), Dunstan chestnut (Castanea dentata X mollissima), Chickasaw plum (Prunus angustifolia), and spruce pine (Pinus glabra) – along a bike and pedestrian path near the intersection of SW 1st Place and SW 75th Street (Tower Road).

Saturday, October 5 – 7115 Southwest 8th Avenue, Gainesville

On an overcast, windy morning we planted twenty trees – winged elms (Ulmus alata), southern red oak (Quercus falcata), longleaf pine (pinus palustris), and southern magnolia (Magnolia grandiflora) – in a large field near the intersection of SW 75th Street (Tower Road) and SW 8th Avenue.
